2008 Miss Vernon 4-H Elementary – (Top Row) Miss Allison Faircloth of Rosepine Elementary – Queen; (2nd Row) Miss Emily Stewart of Rosepine Elementary – 1st Runner Up, Miss Tarin Suire of Rosepine Elementary – 2nd Runner Up; (3rd Row) Miss Shiranda Strother of Pitkin Elementary – 3rd Runner Up, Miss Amy Johnson of Rosepine Elementary – 2007 Miss Vernon 4-H, and Miss Erin Gentry of Hornbeck Elementary – People’s Choice Award Winner. Miss Vernon 4-H Pageant was held with 40 contestants from across the parish. Contestants were judged on an interview and on stage presence. Miss Vernon 4-H Elementary, Junior and Senior will serve as an Ambassador to the Vernon Parish 4-H program by serving as guest speakers for club meetings and civic groups, riding in parades to promote 4-H, distributing awards and helping to recruit 4-H members. They will also be involved in parish-wide 4-H Centennial Celebrations.
