Kaitlyn Emfinger won first place at the State Horse Show in barrel racing with her quarter horse, Bitas On Guard. Kaitlyn qualified to attend the Southern Regional Show in Lexington, Virginia.
Her sister, Lauchlyn Emfinger, was a third-place state winner in pole bending with Keno Oleno Bar. Melanie Netterville also participated in the state show in stake race, pole bending and barrel racing with her horse, Two Eyed Spuds.
In non-riding events, Melanie was a fourth-place state winner in the Individual Demonstration Contest. Her demonstration was titled “Proper Positioning.”
The Tensas girls also had a great showing at the District Show a week earlier. Kaitlyn, riding Bitas On Guard, won a purple ribbon in barrel racing and a white ribbon in pole bending. Lauchlyn, riding Keno Oleno Bar, on the other hand, won a purple ribbon in pole bending and a white ribbon in barrel racing. Melanie, riding Two Eyed Spuds, won a blue ribbon in pole bending and red ribbons in stake race and barrel racing. She also won first place in her Individual Demonstration Contest.
