Tangipahoa Parish Dairy Day: Dairy Day is held each year and sponsored by the Tangipahoa Parish Cooperative Extension Service to honor the Dairymen of Tangipahoa Parish. There will be an awards program and steak dinner for the participants of Dairy Day. Our Dairy Poster Winners from Achievement Day will be honored and we will have a Dairy Foods Contest. Dairy Day will be June 13, 2008 at James & Matt’s Farm, across the road from Kirby Varnado’s Dairy in the Boliver area. Please have your dish there by 9:30 a.m.

Rules for Dairy Foods Contest: Four Divisions: Appetizer, Salad, Main Dish and Dessert. You must use at least one cup of a dairy product in your dish. One-half of the dish can be exhibited and you must have a copy of the recipe with the dish, with your name and school on the back of the recipe. You may enter all four categories, but you may not enter more than one dish per category. Remember this is your first opportunity to start getting points for the 2008 - 2009 year.

4-H University: Potential 4-H University delegates for Tangipahoa Parish will be receiving a letter about attending 4-H University, you must be 13 years old as of January 1, 2008. If you are interested in going PLEASE, PLEASE call the office no later than May 26th and leave your name and phone number, so we can start planning for 4-H U. You MUST pay your money no later than June 4th . You will receive more information about this later. The earlier you call the better.
