St. Landry Parish 4-H club members had the opportunity to practice the life skill of being interviewed for a job on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, during the 4-H Job Interview Contest held at the Extension Office. Each 4-H'er was individually interviewed and rated according to personal appearance, poise, selection of attire, response to interview questions and personal resume by judges in each category.

Four-H activities such as this afford the youngsters the development of self-confidence while participating in a pretend job interview without the pressures of real job seeking.

Each contestant received a blue, red or white ribbon award. The overall winner in each category was awarded a bronze medal award.

Judges for the competition were Lee Hampton, Sam Hanchett, Jennifer Hebert, Joe Hidalgo and Gerald Roberts. Coordinating this event were 4-H agents, Lisa Benoit and Alison Muller.
