St. Bernard Parish 4-H Junior Leader Club Officers along with nearly 800 other 4-H Club Members from across the state gathered in Baton Rouge at the State Capitol for the 7th Annual 4-H Day at the Capitol. The event included an assembly on the Capitol steps, tour of the Capitol and meeting with legislators.
The annual event gives 4-H'ers a chance to meet their legislators and learn more about state government. It also provides an opportunity to thank legislators for their support and keep them informed about parish 4-H programs.
This year legislators were presented with a 4-H Centennial lapel pin and a “4-H Talking Points” bulletin which highlights state and parish 4-H accomplishments. 4-H Club Members received an unexpected surprise from new elected Senator A.G. Crow who recognized St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parish 4-H'ers on the floor of the Senate during the session.
