Red River Parish 4-H Shooting Sports had six to compete in the Louisiana 4-H Sate Shoot on Saturday, May 3, 2008. They traveled on Friday to Covington to shoot on Saturday morning at Tallow Creek in Goodbee, LA. There were a total of 34 competitors in Modified Trap, 17 from North Louisiana and 17 from South Louisiana. The Red River Shooters qualified at the Regional Shoot on April 19, to attend the State Shoot.

In the Senior Division, Jacob Nolen placed 1st and Rayshun Brisker placed 4th, both having a score of 49 out of 50 shots. The placement was decided by a shoot off with two other contestants. Justin Dupree placed 8th with a score of 46 out of 50. This placement was also decided by a shoot off with another contestant with the same score. Clay hinds did very well with a broke right hand in a cast with a score of 45 out of 50 and Brandon Nolen also did well with a score of 44 out of 50. In the State Junior Division, Stephen Jones placed 9th with a high score of 47 out of 50 shots.
