2008 4-H Beef and Egg Cookery Winners
2008 Beef & Egg Cookery Participants

The 2008 Natchitoches Parish 4-H Beef and Cookery Contest was held September 27, 2008, during the Natchitoches Parish Fair and Rodeo. Twenty-four contestants competed for the chance to advance to the Area Cookery Contest, which is being held this spring at Northwestern State University. This will be the first time Natchitoches and NSU will host the areawide event.

On September 5th the Natchitoches Parish Jr. Leader Officer Team retreated to North Toledo State Park for the 2nd annual Jr. Leader Officer Retreat.

Natchitoches 4-H Presents Donation to MDA
Laura Brumbaugh presented Natchitoches Parish 4-H’s Donation to MDA to KTAL Anchor Shelli Briery.

Natchitoches Parish 4-H donated $2,142 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon.

The Area Cookery Contest was held April 16, 2008 at the LA Technical College in Shreveport. Participants from Natchitoches Parish won nine awards.

Natchitoches Parish 4-H’ers attended Challenge Camp on February 21-23, 2008 in Bunkie, LA at the Louisiana Youth Educational Center.

Youth from Natchitoches Parish were among more than 75 4-H club members and volunteers participated in the annual 4-H Food & Fitness Camp held Feb. 23-24 at Camp Grant Walker.

Eleven people from Northwest Louisiana were inducted into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame here on March 7 including two inductees from Natchitoches Parish, Rick Hargis and Idell Snowden.
