September 1 Office closed for the Labor Day holiday
September 3 Health Awareness Day Caldwell Parish Health Unit Health Awareness Day is an annual program of health information, numerous tests, screenings and activities. A community blood drive will be conducted in conjunction with Health Awareness Day. Everyone is invited to attend and take advantage of these services at no cost. Health screening hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The blood drive will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
September 13 LSU vs. North Texas University LCES sponsored 4-H tailgate party and football game. Food and many door prizes will be provided at the tailgate party to be held at Parker Coliseum before the game. Special guests scheduled to appear are Louisiana 4-H alumni General Russel Honore and Kent Desormeaux, the jockey who has almost won the Triple Crown twice, as well as the LSU cheerleaders, Tiger Girls, LSU Golden Girls and Mike the Tiger. In conjunction with the tailgate party, LSU AgCenter Chancellor Dr. William Richardson will be sponsoring a "Chancellor's 4-H Centennial Health Walk" to highlight both the 4-H Centennial Celebration (100 years of 4-H in Louisiana) and his healthy lifestyles focus for the AgCenter and 4-H as we move into the next 100 years! The game begins at 7:00 p.m. in Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
September 23 2009 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show Validation Northeast District Livestock Show Facility, Delhi, LA 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Steers, beef commercial heifers, market lambs, commercial ewes, market goats and commercial does will be validated and classified at this location. The possession date for the listed groups will be September 27, 2008. Any animals previously validated for the State Fair of Louisiana that intends to be exhibited at the 09 LSU State Show will be required to attend an LSU AgCenter validation site to be validated for the 2009 LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show.

September 25-27 Ark-La-Miss Fair, Monroe, La
September 29 4-H Benefit Golf Tournament Squire Creek Country Club, Choudrant, La All proceeds will help the Louisiana 4-H Foundation provide quality summer camping for Louisiana youth at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center in Pollock. The field for the four-person scramble is limited to the first 36 paid teams. The entry fee of $200 per player includes green fees, cart, range balls, a shirt, lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks on the course as well as door prizes. Registration on the day of the event will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by lunch. Tee-off will be 12:30 p.m. Dinner and awards will follow at approximately 5:30 p.m.
