What do blasting rockets, forensic science and electricity bingo all have in common?
The 4-H SET Club is an after-school 4-H Club for seventh- through 12th-graders. It meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Vendor rooms at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center at Gonzales. This club will focus on exploring careers by scheduling hands-on workshops and activities with professionals in various careers. The idea is to give you a chance to try out a career you might be interested in for the future.
We also will participate in activities related to the projects included in the Science, Engineering and Technology 4-H areas. Project books included in this area are: Aerospace, Electricity, Photography, Environment, Pet Care, Horticulture, Health, Foods and Nutrition, Insects/Entomology, Machines, Outdoor Skills, Livestock, Vet Science, Plant Science, Dog Care and Communications.
We met a few times over the summer and had fun with paper airplanes, blasting rockets, playing electricity bingo and discovering new careers.
