5th Annual Louisiana Food
Processors Conference
March 18-19, 2009
Lod Cook Conference Center & Hotel
Louisiana State University
Baton Rouge, La.
The fifth annual Louisiana Food Processors Conference is set for March 18-19, 2009, at the Lod Cook Conference Center in Baton Rouge. The first was held in Baton Rouge in March 2003. The conference is a partnership between Louisiana Economic Development, the LSU AgCenter, the Louisiana food processing industry and allied supporters.
Value-added processing represents one of the most important economic development segments of the Louisiana economy. The potential for future growth is staggering. Louisiana proudly has one of the most important ports in the nation, and it is the gateway to global markets essential for international trade.
The food processing industry is continually evolving. A major purpose of this conference is to provide information on new regulations in the areas of food safety and security, marketing challenges, global trade, required processing training, emerging pathogens and record keeping.
Who Should Attend?
This conference is intended for all those with an interest
and stake in the future of the Louisiana food processing industry: food processors, food processing support industries, governmental representatives, state and federal regulatory agencies and entrepreneurs that may be considering a business in food processing.
